First shots

Well Anna Kay and I survived her two month old check up and shots today.  She weighed a whopping eleven pounds even and is now 22 and a half inches long.  She is a  growing girl!  Everything is just perfect with her!   We both struggled with the whole shot thing.....I got all teary eyed when she screamed when they stuck her.  It was tough! Luckily Gran Baker was there with us to help out! Poor Anna had to get two shots in her left leg and one in the right.  :(   We did give her tylenol before we went so hopefully that will help with the soreness.  She was a very brave girl!  Thanks Gran for going with us!

Story Time

One of my favorite ways to end the day is to read a story to Anna Kay before bedtime.  Reading is one of my most adored hobbies and it is so nice to be able to share that with her.  It's amazing to me that even at such a young age, she will sit and listen to the story.  She may just be listening to the sound of my voice, but hey, it's language none the less! 

Going to the Pool and Meeting Harrison

Anna had her first "dip" in the pool yesterday.  Rebecca, Matt, and I took her to our neighborhood pool for a little fun in the "sun".  We had the whole place to ourselves when we got there so that was nice.  Anna looked so cute in her sun hat and bathing suit.  She loved getting her feet wet in the pool!  I'm sure by next year she will love the water  just as much as her Mommy and Daddy do!  We didn't get to stay too long because it was almost dinner time for her and us, but it was a great first trip!

Today Anna Kay, Aunt Jean, and I took a trip to the upstate to go and see my new nephew Harrison.  He was just born this past Friday and is absolutely precious! We were so glad to get up there and spend some time with John David and Marcia.  We even got to see DW and Mrs. Iris too!

Weekend Festivities

This weekend was a busy one for us!  Saturday, Matt and I had our ten year high school reunion which was a ton of fun.  We left Anna with Gran and Grandpa and we are so thankful they could keep her.  We knew this would be the longest we would have left her.....but we knew she was in great hands! We only called a couple of times ;)    Here are pics of us getting Anna Kay ready to go and then us posing like we did before prom in high school...hilarious!

Father's Day!!!

Of course yesterday was Father's Day and we took Anna Kay to church for the first time.  She looked so beautiful in her dress that her Great Grandparents  gave her.  She fell asleep in the car on the way to church so we thought we might be ok during the service. Well the minute we took her out of the car she woke up.  She was really good for about the first fifteen minutes or so during the service.  Then she figured out she wasn't moving around and she started getting fussy.  Matt took her out to the brides room (you can still watch the service in there) and she was a happy camper.  Then during our service they had a special part where the father's had to come up to the front, so Matt and I did a handoff with Anna and I took her to the brides room.  She really was pretty good considering she was in a strange place.  She ended up falling asleep near the end. Everyone at church was so sweet.  She was such a celebrity!

The many faces of Anna Kay!

This morning when Anna and I were playing she decided to display all of her "typical" faces!  I  grabbed my camera to catch them for you!

This is another one of her famous faces.  We call this one the "pouty face" and it normally happens right before she cries....either she is bored or wants to be picked up and snuggled. This face means...."Ok, I'm finished with this!'  :)  Notice the bottom lip....even this face is precious!
